Finding the Facts From Original Sources

INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed David Dozier who is a leading media authority.

Legacy media often name (and social media sometimes name) sources for the news and information they report. Legacy media, however, may distort news or leave out important information. Social media often get the facts wrong. The Internet provides every news consumer with access to many original sources of news. For example, you may learn that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just released new health information on an epidemic. What did the CDC actually say? Using keywords, you can use search engines (Google, Bing) to track down what the CDC actually said on the CDC website. In addition, you can check the coverage of the same news from multiple legacy media you trust, a process called triangulation. Finally, several organizations (Snopes, PolitiFact, FactCheck.org, ProPublica) provide fact-checking websites that debunk disinformation and misinformation. For more on disinformation campaigns, see www.DavidDozierBooks.com.
