INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.
This year, though, “shop local” is more than a holiday slogan, it’s an urgent plea. Meuse will share tips for consumers to help sustain small businesses each and every day.
“Think before you buy,” says Meuse who is a contributor to Grit Daily. “Before you make that purchase, ask yourself if you could buy this product or service locally. In today’s world, you can buy nearly anything in a few easy clicks. When I buy products locally, I know who to call when I have a problem or if I have a question.”
Go Direct – It’s a common misperception that buying through third-party apps is more efficient. My grandfather always taught me that it was better to cut out the middle-man. Buying on Amazon.com, where they get 30% of the order, or using Postmates or another food delivery service where they not only get 30-35% of the order, they also mark up the menu, hurts you and the small business. Cut out the middleman!
As a thought leader in business transformation and financial management, Meuse is a regular contributor on TV and radio, most recently on Business First AM and DC Tonight Prime where he made recommendations for President-Elect Biden on helping the small business sector.
After years on Wall Street, Joseph Meuse created Business GPS in 2013 because he was looking to use his experience and business acumen to help struggling businesses. Enter COVID-19, and his company is helping hundreds of businesses get government loans, decrease their commercial rental payments, negotiate their loans to better terms – all on contingency. It is a unique business model, where Business GPS gets paid at the end of the process.
