President Biden’s $1.52 trillion budget request for Fiscal Year 2022 includes a policy-making standalone energy storage project eligible for the federal investment tax credit (ITC), a move that advocates say will unleash new capital for renewable energy. Zinc8 is collaborating with The New York Power Authority (NYPA), to help advance Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Green New Deal by achieving the aggressive energy storage goal of 3GW by 2030 and by supporting a nation-leading commitment of 100% electricity from emission-free sources by 2040.

Ron MacDonald, President & CEO, Zinc8 Energy Solutions, has over 35 years of both public and private sector experience, ranging from international roles within the Parliament of Canada to serve on the boards of numerous publicly listed resource companies. From 1988 to 1997, he was the Member of Parliament for Halifax, Nova Scotia, during which time he was appointed by the Prime Minister of Canada as Parliamentary Secretary of International Trade. From 1997-2002, Mr. MacDonald was President and CEO of the Council of Forest Industries, a large lumber manufacturing, grading, and marketing group, where he developed new markets in China, Korea, India, and Japan.
